ASMS is a one-stop shop for both patients and referring physicians. Once patients complete their sleep studies, their results are sent to their referring physicians. If Durable Medical Equipment (DME) is necessary, it can be ordered directly from ASMS by the patient’s referring physician.
ASMS carries a comprehensive inventory of treatment and related supplies from the biggest manufacturers in the industry, including Respironics, ResMed and Puritan Bennett. These state-of-the-art devices include:
Device setups can either be done at one of our facilities, or at the patient’s home, if needed, and generally take 45 to 60 minutes.
CPAP, or Continuous Positive Airway Pressure, delivers pressurized ambient air through a delivery system (tubing and mask), thus eliminating apnea events during sleep. CPAP is the most effective treatment for sleep apnea and can potentially improve the patient’s sleep overnight; dramatically improving the quality of life for individuals afflicted with sleep apnea.
Bi-Level Device
BiPAP, or Bi-Level Positive Airway Pressure, is another form of sleep therapy, which delivers alternating levels of a higher inspiratory pressure (IPAP) to keep the airway open as a patient breathes in, and a lower expiratory pressure (EPAP) allowing the patient to exhale easily. Thus, a BiPAP is much easier for users with neuromuscular disease to adapt to. The dual settings allow patients to get more air in and out of the lungs without the natural muscular effort needed to do so.
ASMS offers an extensive inventory, which also includes a wide variety of device related supplies and accessories. Such accessories include various masks, tubing, heated humidifiers and filters.
ASMS boasts one of the most intensive DME follow-up programs in the industry to ensure optimal compliance with patients. This program includes the following:
