BA (Hons), MSc, MPhil, PhD, CPsychol, FHEA Vicki Culpin is a member of faculty at Ashridge Executive Education. She works with a range of clients, nationally and internationally, from the public, private and cultural sectors and delivers guest lectures around the world on a variety of psychological topics. Vicki specializes in organisational behavior, specifically well-being at work. She has spent over 17 years in academia, researching memory with a variety of individuals including older adults, children and forensic populations. More recent research and teaching interests include the relationship between sleep, well-being and derailment and the relationship between sleep and resilience in management populations.

Busy professionals experience many pressures that impede their ability to obtain optimal amounts of sleep. Working according to shift patterns, working across different time zones simultaneously and international travel¹ are all common causes of sleep loss. In addition, the use of artificial lighting and hand-held technologies at night², ever increasing pressure to perform (and to be ‘seen’ to perform) and the lengthening of the working day all make the challenge of getting optimal sleep more difficult for employees.
