Whether you typically drink at night before bed or are hoping to fall asleep faster in the sleep center, you should consider this information if you're wondering whether you should have a drink before your sleep study.

 

Does a glass of wine (or beer) before bed help you sleep better at night?

Just because a drink before bed can make it easier for you to fall asleep doesn’t mean that it actually helps you sleep well.

Drinking alcohol can reduce the effectiveness and alter the results of your sleep study.

Have you ever noticed someone who snores worse after a couple of drinks before bed? Why does this happen?

Sleeping humiliation at Yankees game not deemed defamation.

NY Daily News reports that a $10 million defamation lawsuit filed by a sleeping baseball fan was dismissed. The fan  was caught on camera by ESPN sleeping through the fourth inning of a New York Yankees vs. Boston Red Sox game in April 2014. Having surgery--even a minor operation--is stressful. You want to make sure that everything goes according to plan for you or your loved one. Unfortunately, no surgery is without risk of complications. However, a new study points out an important way to reduce your surgical risk: treating your sleep apnea. 

That's right: people who combated their sleep apnea with PAP (positive airway pressure) devices experienced fewer complications after having surgery than their untreated counterparts.

Hollywood Actress Dies From Sleep Apnea: What to Take Away

Amanda Peterson, star of the 80s classic Can't Buy Me Love, passed away earlier this month.

The actress began her career in 1982 with her role as an orphan in "Annie" and a few other jobs before finding her break-out role opposite Patrick Dempsey. Though she had cut back on acting by 1994, Amanda did not step out of the Hollywood lifestyle.  Over the course of 12 years, she was arrested five times for various alcohol and narcotic related charges.  But no: the 43-year-old's unfortunate death does not appear to be the result of a drug overdose.

Instead, the actress's family attributes her death, at least partially, to her sleep apnea.
